We recommend that you check, in the pdf document Informed Choices linked below, those subjects which the Russell Group of universities have identified as ‘facilitating subjects’. 

‘Facilitating subjects’ are those which the UK’s top universities (including Oxford and Cambridge) welcome, and it is the Russell Group’s recommendation that any student who aspires to one of these universities should take at least two of these subjects at A level. We offer all of the listed subjects here at Wimbledon High.

In addition, Trinity College Cambridge is open in ranking A levels according to what they see as their 'suitability'. Their list can be accessed here:
