Important Message for Parents and Visitors to WHS
Many of you will have noticed the dreadful traffic congestion in and around Wimbledon town centre at the moment, due to the replacement of gas mains. There are a number of closed roads, “no right turns” and contra-flow traffic lights on the roads leading into school. As a result, we would urge you, if at all possible, to travel to school by alternative means of transport. If you do need to come in by car (or indeed by bus) you should plan for a rather longer journey than usual.
In addition, not all of the usual pedestrian crossings are operating, so please do tell your daughters, if they travel to school on their own, to be especially vigilant when crossing roads and to look for the alternative/new crossing points.
