Admission to our Junior School (4-11 years)

The main point of entry to our Junior School is into two classes in Reception. Admission is by a selection process – this is outlined below. We also hold 7+ assessments for entry into Year 3, for a limited number of places.

Our deadline for September 2018 entry has now passed and we are no longer able to receive applications.

If you are interested in September 2019 entry or beyond we will be holding further Open Mornings in Spring 2018:

02 May 2018 - booking will open on 01 March 2018
Bookings are necessary so that we can manage numbers.

In the year preceding entry, please register your daughter by the given deadline, using the online registration form linked below and paying online the registration fee of £110. The registration fee covers our administrative costs and is non-refundable.  If you wish your daughter to sit our tests overseas (occasional vacancy or Year 3 entry only) you are asked to pay a registration fee of £175, to cover courier fees.

Applying for Reception

Assessments are held in a nursery-style environment, with activities designed to enable the child to relax and be themselves. At 4+ we are looking for potential, rather than what has already been learnt. The assessment covers language and social skills, number, physical and creative skills; girls who successfully come through the first round in November are invited back in January. See the timeline below:

Applying for Year 3

Assessments for 7+ are held in a formal setting and cover three areas of learning:
English: comprehension and creative writing
Mathematics: based on work familiar to a Year 2 child
Verbal Reasoning: eg: sorting words, anagrams, logic, selecting words and coded sequences.

In addition, the girls have a semi-formal group interview, which will include reading.

Assessments take place on Thurs 16 November 2017 for September 2018 entry into Year 3.
Results will be posted on Friday 1 December and our acceptance deadline for 7+ is Monday 11 December.

With families sometimes relocating for work reasons out of the area at short notice, occasional vacancies may arise in any year group mid-year, so it is worth contacting us if you are looking for a place for your daughter - please fill in the enquiry form below, or contact our Junior Admissions Secretary, Mrs Noreen Rashid.
