Wimbledon High School Annual Fund

The Annual Fund enters its fourth year with a solid track record of raising money to help make a great education even better. Last year, thanks to our wonderfully supportive community of parents, alumnae and friends, the Annual Fund raised over £64,000. 

The students are delighted with the improvements to the school’s outdoor spaces that we have been able to create, including the Diamond Jubilee- and Olympic-themed commemorative corner which will be completed shortly after half-term.  During the summer we were also able to resurface the tennis/netball courts at Nursery Road thanks to the generous Annual Fund contribution from the WHSA.

In addition, our School Discretionary Fund has continued to provide financial assistance for items such as educational trips.

This year’s Annual Fund will be dedicated to:

• upgrading the sound system in the Rutherford Centre, in order to improve the experience of both performers and audience for the many plays and musicals that are put on throughout the school year;
• continuing the improvements to the playground and overall external environment of the school;
• upgrading the sports provision.  As part of our focus on sports and PE in this Olympic year we would like to hire extra specialist coaches and widen the range of sporting activities that we can offer to our students; and
• continuing to provide financial assistance through the School Discretionary Fund.

All gifts to the Annual Fund are greatly valued, and we do hope that you will want to become part of this community of supporters at Wimbledon High School.
