Over a third of Wimbledon High School students gain a clean sweep of A*s and As at A Level!
Within a changing academic landscape, where ever increasing grades can no longer be taken as read, students at Wimbledon High School GDST have today achieved an excellent set of results in their A Levels.
Head Jane Lunnon said:
“We have seen some outstanding individual successes in these results but overall, they have reflected the fact that no school is immune to what we have seen as an adjustment away from the ever-higher grades of recent years.
“Two-thirds of these grades were awarded under the new A level course specifications – linear courses which promised, and have certainly delivered, more academic rigour. I am delighted that within this new world, the vast majority of our students have nevertheless achieved the grades they need to get to the best universities in the UK and abroad. They have as ever thrown themselves wholeheartedly into school life and will I know go on to achieve great things in the future.”
