Year 5 raise money for The Antarctic Heritage Trust

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the Christmas Fair festivities on Saturday 2nd December, five of our budding Year 5 entrepreneurs: Raniya, Louella, Millie, Ava and Ayanna, raised £175 for the Antarctic Heritage Trust.

In October, Year 5 were visited by Cat Totty from the Trust who gave a talk about her experiences of living in Antarctica for six months and the daily challenges that she faced. Learning all about ‘Ice Worlds’ and hearing these first hand experiences from Cat evidently sparked an interest within the girls through which their generous funds raised will go towards helping preserve and manage British Antarctic Heritage.

The girls, like true entrepreneurs, sourced and created all of the items for sale, promoted their cause through posters and of course, radiated enthusiasm and dedication throughout a busy day on the stall!
