Our Academic Scholarship programme is made up of three extensions: The Rosewell Lecture Series, Explore and The Wimbledon Wonderers. Find out more below and book for upcoming events...
Explore talks are aimed at students in Years 10 – 13 (and some for a broader audience) and take place on Tuesdays in the Rutherford Centre at 5.00pm in the Autumn and Spring terms. They are designed to broaden student thinking. Reminders will be posted in High Ways and on Firefly.
|As part of our aim to broaden student horizons and encourage debate, we run a series of evening lectures throughout the school year. Rosewell lectures are designed for students in Years 10 - 13, offering a forum for topical ideas and academic thinking. Talks may tap into students’ intellectual curiosity on a topic beyond exam specifications, or they have a motivational lifestyle or careersfocussed theme. Speakers are often academics, scientists, politicians, experts in various fields. The lecture generally lasts for 40-50mins, from 7pm in the Rutherford Centre, followed by questions from the floor. We finish up by 8pm. Parents and guardians of any year group are also welcome to attend, along with students from our partner schools.||
takes place weekly. The club is for girls in Years 7, 8 and 9 who enjoy pondering big questions! We might wander (see what we did there??) into politics or economics, or our wondering might take us into the realm of philosophy.
