Excellent results for Wimbledon High students in their GCSEs

Students, parents and staff gathered back at school today after the summer break to collect their GCSE results, with 93% grades 9 - 7 and 76% grades 9-8.

Head Fionnuala Kennedy said:

“I’m proud of the resilience of these students, who have risen to the challenge of their first public exams and the prospect of a return to 2019 grades.

“With 76% of grades 9-8 (A* in the old currency), they’ve collectively achieved a strong set of results across a range of subjects, and stand ready to dive deeply into their A level courses.

“Amongst the cohort, we have brilliant dancers, martial arts experts and footballers, an internationally competitive flyer in Cheer, talented musicians, actors and student journalists. Congratulations girls, and thank you for enriching our community in all that you do. And thank you to your teachers for their support and guidance, amongst whom our very own Mme Baty, Head of French, today gained a 9 in her GCSE Mandarin! There's lifelong learning in action."
