When your daughter joins WHS, as parents you are also joining a community, and WHSA, the school's parent association, is at the heart of it.
Our primary function is to organise fundraising events where parents can meet and enjoy themselves, whilst raising money which the school can use to enhance the educational experience of the girls. Our Year reps also organise parties and seasonal events for Junior girls, as well as act as invaluable sources of information for new parents.
We have recently held a very successful charity auction dinner hosted by rugby international Brian Moore, raising in the region of £11,000, which will go back into sport at WHS. Regular events include the Christmas and Summer Fairs and Quiz Nights, which have funded a grand piano for Juniors, playground shade and planting for the wildlife garden.
Our aim is to get as many parents involved in the WHSA activities as possible. This need not mean ongoing commitment of your time. Rather, you may choose to lend your expertise to a particular project, give advice or set up a new initiative, while others run with it in the longer term. If you have ideas or would like to offer your help, please do be in touch.
We look forward to hearing from you.
