This week the Junior School blasted off to space with astronaut Tim Peake, learning all about what it is really like to visit space!
The Wimbledon Bookfest event saw our own Years 4, 5 and 6 joined by pupils from other local primary schools to listen to stories of space, find out if we will ever be able to live on other planets (anyone fancy a trip to Mars?) and all about what it is like to be an astronaut. Tim answered lots of questions at the end in a very enthusiastic Q&A session, including:
How do you sleep in space?
Can you see weather on Earth when you’re in space?
Can you swim in space?
Junior Science Prefects and our keen reporters from Pipsqueaks, the Junior School pupil-led newspaper, were lucky to have an exclusive interview with Tim. Lots of insightful questions were asked by the young journalists – stay tuned for their article in due course!
