On Wednesday 5 February, Year 5 teamed up with Granard Primary School to learn all about training to become astronauts at Out of this World Space Day.
Activities included: learning how astronauts stay healthy in space through ‘resistance’ exercises, which help to keep bones and muscles strong, and the importance of eating a balanced diet and drinking enough water; conducting science experiments to learn about how to manage waste in space and the effectiveness of different materials at absorbing heat; and using VR goggle to explore the size of the universe.
And, of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without the very special Space Day t-shirts!
