In the final weeks before the Easter break, the Junior School came together to mark Neurodiversity Week – a meaningful opportunity for pupils to deepen their understanding of how different brains think, learn and experience the world.
The week was launched with an inspiring assembly led by Year 6 pupils, setting the tone for a series of thoughtful and engaging activities. Throughout the week, girls explored themes of empathy, metacognition and effective learning habits, gaining valuable insight into both their own learning and that of others.
A particular highlight was the introduction of a sensory jar competition. We are delighted to announce that the winning entry was created by Shreenika G, whose jar stood out for its originality and thoughtful design.
Pupils also benefited from visits by Senior School buddies, who shared their own learning strategies and experiences, helping to normalise different approaches to thinking and learning. Year 5 enjoyed a special talk from a parent speaker, further enriching their understanding of neurodiversity in real-world contexts.
Across all year groups, form times were dedicated to exploring a range of neurodiverse profiles and how they shape individual learning journeys. These discussions fostered a greater sense of awareness and acceptance within the school community.
