Cricket at WHS goes from strength to strength

Wimbledon High has once again been named in the Top 20 All-Girls Schools for cricket in The Cricketer’s Schools Guide.

Cricket at WHS continues to go from strength to strength!

We are proud to share that we have once again been named in the Top 20 All-Girls Schools for cricket in The Cricketer’s Schools Guide 2026.

This accomplishment showcases the dedicated leadership of Coutts Coutts-Wood, Director of Sport, and Dan Creasey, Head of Cricket and GDST U15 Cricket Lead, whose expertise continues to strengthen and expand our cricket programme. With over 100 students now playing hardball cricket across Years 7-10, there are future plans to install four more temporary lanes at our Nursery Road sports ground for use alongside our indoor cricket nets and current outdoor space.

Announcing the launch of the new WHS cricket kit

Our new cricket kit was designed by Alicia A (Year 12) in collaboration with Lacuna Sports’ chief designer. Lacuna are leaders in women’s-specific cricket kit, and we are absolutely delighted with the final result. The kit has been designed to ensure the girls are more comfortable while also looking professional on the cricket field.

Wimbledon High cricketers will be travelling to Dubai at Easter to compete in the Joe Root Academy Schools Cup, which will provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase the new kit.

The new cricket kit is now available to purchase via the Lacuna Sports website.

GDST Select Cricket

Wimbledon High recently hosted the GDST Select Cricket trials. Students from WHS and other GDST schools showcased their abilities in a bid to be chosen for the U15 and U18 GDST Select Teams.
