Debating the mobile phone issue in schools on Radio Four Today Programme

Good to hear our Senior Deputy Head, Benjamin Turner, on the Today programme (19 August at 08:44 on BBC Sounds) contributing to the debate about mobile phones in schools. Our experience of zero tolerance on phones has been extremely positive, as part of our commitment to safeguarding and a play-based childhood.

We continue to use tech in the classroom where teaching will be enhanced by it – and as a proud girls’ school, knowing that the young women who leave us at Year 13 are savvy users of tech and increasingly shapers of the technology rather than at the mercy of it, is important to us.

“I’ve been in education for the best part of two decades and I’ve never seen a lesson that is made any better by having a mobile phone in it.”
