The Art department are delighted to have recently been loaned a collection of seven taxidermied birds from the Horniman Museum for students to practice still-life drawing.
Years 8 and 10 have been working on projects themed around creatures and preservation, with classroom displays also featuring plants and animal skulls alongside the birds. Students have been practicing drawing with different mediums, ranging from charcoal, continuous line-drawings, chalk and pencil.
Other year groups have also been practising their still-life skills; life drawing has been weaved into lessons plans for all year groups, as well as in the various art co-curricular clubs that take place at lunch time.
Make sure to take a look at some of the drawings below!
