Congratulations to the Class of 2026 at Wimbledon High whose individuality and commitment are evident in a fantastic set of A levels results today:

And they are going on to do an incredible range of things: Over 80% of students have secured places at their first choice of university, 15 students have confirmed places at the G5 universities – University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, University College London (UCL), and the London School of Economics (LSE) – with all of our students with offers to Oxbridge confirmed to take up their places.
There are a significant number of students on courses with an accredited year in industry and four students already in the US on university scholarships at Division 1 colleges, an increasingly popular option. Our medics will embark on courses at Imperial, University College London (UCL), University of Edinburgh, University of East Anglia (UEA), Queen Mary, and City St Georges, University of London.
With over 60 different courses chosen by this year group, they demonstrate that there really is no one single Wimbledon High girl.
As Fionnuala Kennedy, Head of Wimbledon High School, said:
“What is so striking about this year group is the dazzling breadth of achievement across the full gamut of academic arena – and the vast array of exciting courses they will be taking on in the next chapter of their journey as a result. From electrical engineering to Film and Television, neuroscience to Music with Maths, our young women are striding out to a wealth of opportunities and disciplines. Furthermore, they’re doing so with outstanding grades under their belts and a sense of their own capability and resilience. We couldn’t be more proud of them, individually and collectively, and wish the class of 2026 nothing but the best for the journey ahead.”

Dilly - Durham University
Our former Head Girl, Dilly, who is a ‘WHS lifer’ having joined Wimbledon High at reception, is off to study Chemistry at Durham University.
She was one of the 20% of students in her yeargroup who gained all A* grades – in Chemistry, English Literature and Maths.
Dilly successfully managed to combine her responsibilities as Head Girl with many other activities, including representing the county in cross-country!
Agnes - University of Cambridge
Agnes is our former Deputy Head Girl ( for Community Voice), a national level fencer and a talented trombone player. She studied Maths, German and English at A level and is now taking up a place at the University of Cambridge to study Modern and Medieval Languages. Agnes also got one of the highest marks in A Level English in the country. Congratulations Agnes!
Ellie - University of Edinburgh
Ellie is our former Deputy Head Girl (Inclusive Community) and also a WHS ‘Lifer’ as well as an Academic and Sports Scholar at Wimbledon High.
She is a regional and national level rugby player. After studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at A level, Ellie takes up a place at Edinburgh to study Medicine. Congratulations Ellie and good luck!
Pola - University of Oxford
Well done to Pola who is off to the University of Oxford to study French and Beginners’ Italian, having done French, English and History at A level. She skillfully balanced her responsibilities as Deputy Head Girl for Community Action with acting and was in several school plays and also directed a play written by one of her peers.
Jessica - Royal Central School of Speech and Drama
We are delighted that Jessica will be attending the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama for Performance Design. Like Agnes, Jessica also studied Maths, alongside Physics and Textiles and designed the costumes for our school production of Macbeth ( shown here).
Heather - University of Oxford
A huge well done to Heather who goes up to Oxford to study Classics. Heather is the personification of Wimbledon High girls’ key strengths – the ability to shine equally at both arts and sciences, having studied Maths, Product Design, Latin and Greek at A level. She also volunteers at a local library, teaching Python coding to younger children.
Eleanor - University of Oxford
Eleanor studied Geography, Spanish and History at A level and was a WHS Academic scholar. She has also made significant contribution to our partnership work with HMP Downview. Eleanor was Cox for the J15 8+ at the National Schools Regatta in 2023.
Congratulations to Eleanor for a great set of results – she heads off to study Geography at the University of Oxford!
Esme - Manchester University
Congratulations to Esme who is off to Manchester to study Chemistry. Esme studied a brilliant combination of Chemistry, Art and Maths at A level and was an Art scholar as well as being a talented rower!
Alice - University of Cambridge
Congratulations to Alice who has received an excellent set of A level results and takes up a place at the University of Cambridge to study Mechanical Engineering.
Alice studied Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Music at A level and was joint Head of Wellbeing on the Student Leadership Team. She was also a Music Scholar and a highly skilled trombonist and pianist. She combined her passion for music and STEM to win the GDST STEM essay prize with her essay on the mathematics of tuning systems.
Mia - University of North Carolina, USA
Congratulations to Mia who has taken up a rowing scholarship in the US at the University of North Carolina. Mia studied PE, Politics and Geography at A level. She is also the former Sports Captain on the Student Leadership Team and a Sports Scholar and made a huge contribution to rowing at Wimbledon High.
Cecilia - University of Texas at Austin, USA
Cecilia is at the University of Texas at Austin in the US, having received an academic scholarship. She was the Editor-in-Chief of Unconquered Peaks (our student-led magazine). Cecilia joined Wimbledon High in Year 12 and is studying Politics, History, Spanish at A level and has written extensively on politics and history on both sides of the Atlantic.
Imogen - University of Minnesota, US
Imogen joined WHS in Y7 and studied French, Spanish and Economics at A level and is a talented linguist.. Not only that, she has managed to find time this year to be the WHSBC Rowing Captain.
Congratulations to Imogen for receiving a scholarship to study and row at the University of Minnesota in the US!
