Year 12 students from across the GDST competed in the annual Psychology Cup on Tuesday (30 June, 2026).
Competition was fierce this year, which students from 13 different schools showcasing the small-scale research projects that they have completed on a variety of topics, such as whether digital or paper-based resources impact student performance, the halo effect, and the extent to which music improves sports performance.
The projects were judged by two fantastic clinical psychologists, Dr Jenny Mullineaux and Lily Felton and students fielded questions with confidence and careful critical analysis. Wimbledon High’s team (Sophie, Shalini, Audrey and Eva ) won a prize in the category of ‘Project with the best discussion of implications for the world of Psychology’ for their research into the extent to which AI can replicate human empathy.
