We are delighted to share the success of our debaters in the second round of the national The English-Speaking Union Mace competition.
Helene, Yasmine and Beatrice in Y11 acted as the proposition for the motion: ‘This House would hold tech companies legally responsible for the mental health impact of their platforms.’
The team debated superbly and are one of only two to progress to the third round, which will take place in March.
Mrs Pett said, ‘Their logic, rhetoric and rebuttal were impressively sharp – Mrs Lingenfelder and I were on the edge of our seats watching their quick thinking. It was such a thrilling debate!’
