STEAM EXPO+ showcases student work across the Arts, Sciences and PPE

At the end of each academic year, we like to showcase student work from across Senior School at our annual EXPO, this year bringing together an impressive range of projects from across Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Philosophy, Politics and Economics, demonstrating the interdisciplinary skills that are increasingly valued in higher education and the workplace.

The event featured the GCSE and A Level Art Private View, DT Exhibition, Fashion & Textiles showcase, Year 8 Science Fair, Year 10 PPE projects and STEM Writing Competition, providing students with a platform to share their research, creativity and innovation with the wider school community.

It was brilliant to see the girls proudly show off their achievements. It is a real opportunity for students to engage with real-world applications of their subjects and showcase their work to an audience of enthusiastic parents and staff, allowing them to develop key presentation skills.

Congratulations to all the students and staff involved in delivering such an inspiring event and our alumnae who came to quiz students on their projects!

S - is for Science

For the Science Fair, Y8 students presented projects based on questions of personal interest they had researched independently. They were quizzed by a panel of expert STEM alumnae judges and parents.

T - is for Tech and Textiles!

The displays included projects from Years 7 through to 13. Textiles students hosted a fashion show in the auditorium, where practical pieces from Years 7 to 12 were expertly modelled on a runway.

E - is for Engineering

This is a tellurion or tellurium – a mechanical model built by students and teachers consisting of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.
Year 8 showed impressive curiosity and imagination in their presentations – if you are looking for a solar powered hotdog barbeque, you might want to speak to them!

A - is for Arts

The Art Department held a inspiring Private View, displaying GCSE and A-level pieces in a range of mediums created over the past two years, including final exam work and sketchbooks.

M - is for Mathmetics

We were delighted to put on display the WHS finalists entries for the 2026 #700STEM Challenge essay competition, the majority of which were Maths – related.

PPE - is for Politics, Philosophy and Economics

Year 10 students studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) presented group exhibitions exploring contemporary issues such as the ethics of chocolate producers, the politics of Bad Bunny’s Superbowl performance as well as the impact wealth has on judicial outcomes among others.
