Theatre and Chatterboxes in German!

Our KS3 Germanists have been having lots of fun recently! Last week they spent a fantastic afternoon immersed in live theatre as they enjoyed a vibrant performance by the Onatti Theatre Company. The entire play was delivered in German, offering an engaging and entertaining way to build confidence and comprehension. Judging by the constant laughter around the room, it was certainly a hit with the students!

A special “Danke!” goes to Nancy in Year 8, who bravely volunteered to join the cast on stage. Her enthusiasm and willingness to take part added an extra spark to the performance. It was a wonderful cultural and linguistic experience for all involved.

And in Year 7, German students have been using “Chatterboxes” to practise and reinforce the language skills they have built so far. They spoke in German about topics such as verb endings, pets, family and time indicators. The “Chatterboxes” guide the students through quick-fire questions and mini speaking challenges, transforming revision into an interactive game, helping to build confidence and fluency whilst making language learning engaging.
