A huge congratulations to Maddy in Year 10, who has been highly commended in the University of Oxford 2025 Spanish Flash Fiction competition!
Entrants were asked to write a short story of no more than 100 words in Spanish and were judged on imagination and narrative flair, as well as linguistic accuracy.
The judging panel is made up of academics from the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages at the University of Oxford, who were impressed with the command of the Spanish throughout, as well as the ability to manipulate the language imaginatively.
Maddy’s story will be published on the University of Oxford blog, Adventures on the Bookshelf, alongside the winning and other highly commended entries.
