Sport
Sport is an integral part of life at Wimbledon High where students have the opportunity to learn and participate in a wide range of activities and sports which contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
By providing inspiring teaching and high-level coaching we ensure that each student at Wimbledon High is supported to reach their potential, participates with enjoyment and develops a lifelong love of being active.

Our three strands of sport
There is a focus on three key areas of the PE and Games Curriculum, ensuring all students are catered for.
Recreational – At beginner level or new to the sport and looking for fun and informal competitive opportunities such as house competitions and friendly fixtures.
Development – For students looking to develop their skills and performance and wanting to represent the school in competitive fixtures on a regular basis.
Performance – For students displaying a high level of skill and named within the A team squad list.
Facilities
On the main school site we have a 25m swimming pool, sports hall with cricket nets, fully equipped gym and a designated space for strength and conditioning.
A ten-minute walk away is our sportsground, the original home of the All England Club, with numerous tennis / netball courts, a full size astro for hockey and football, cricket nets, athletics facilities, pavilion for team and parent refreshments and changing rooms.
Performance Sport
Our top performing sportswomen represent school and country.
Mia in Year 13 rows for Great Britain, recently racing in the Home International Regatta and winning two gold medals for England.
Gymnast Maddie combined school life with competing for Team NZ in gymnastics, and we have cheered on top swimmers and track athletes as they have risen to the top of their sport while at Wimbledon High.
This year 16 Wimbledon High students from Years 10-13 worked as ball girls at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
