We were delighted to have restarted our Partnerships Afternoon programme for 2022-2023 on 3 November.

As we welcomed over 150 students from our primary Partnerships hub - St Boniface, West Wimbledon, Sacred Heart, Granard and Green Wrythe - to work alongside our own WHS Y6 students for the STRIVE and THRIVE programmes, the playground and auditorium were buzzing with excited, if not a little nervous Y11 & 12 mentors who were ready to meet their mentees. Once the mentors and mentees had met, they made their way to the activity, whether this was, for example, making glue in Science, playing the ‘Cup-Song' in Music or creating a scratch game in Coding, they all returned having experienced a wonderful afternoon.

Likewise, our secondary partnerships resumed, with a Chemistry collaboration, the planning for the development of the ‘Green Powered Car’ and the Humanising Medicine programme in Science. In addition, WHS in the Community was in full swing with visits by our students and staff to Merton Guild, Heathland Court Care home, Kew House, Perseid and Linden Lodge specialist schools. With SHINE planning underway for a January start, Mandarin and Swimming lessons with West Wimbledon primary school underway, and Latin teaching at Ricards Lodge, we have hit the ground running at full speed.

It's always such a privilege to have such strong connections with many of our hub schools and community venues, and we are all looking forward to seeing them again next week.
