Out of this World Space Day 2024

On Friday 19^th January Year 5 WHS were joined by 59 Year 5 students from West Wimbledon Primary to take part in Out of this World Space Day. This day consists of pupils from both schools working together to tackle space related challenges. They learned about astronauts and the history and future of space travel, as well as investigating heat shields, waste in space and space health. A favourite part of the day for many pupils was looking around our Solar System using virtual reality headsets.

Out of this World Space Day has taken place for several years now and is a highlight of the Earth and Space topics at both schools. Year 5 pupils from both schools worked so well together this year, making new friends and learning new skills from each other which was fabulous to see.
