We've seen wonderful achievements in sports across both Junior and Senior schools recently...

Football:
On Thursday 10 November, the U11 football squad represented Wimbledon at the GDST rally. In the group stage, they scored 7 goals, did not concede a single goal and won all of their matches against Notting Hill & Ealing, Putney and Bromley High. This meant that they topped their group and went into the cup competition. In the quarter finals, they beat Northwood 2-1 so progressed through to the semi-finals where they faced Norwich. After a 0-0 draw, it went to penalties and thanks to some excellent penalty-taking and goalkeeping, we won 2-0. In the cup final, the girls faced fierce opposition from South Hampstead and despite defending well, a last minute goal meant that we lost 1-0 to deserved winners. However, Wimbledon ended up as runners-up out of 16 GDST teams and Mrs Prag was extremely proud of the performance of all the footballers. The players of the tournament were Mimi in goal and Lucia in defence with Mollie, Lola, Lily, Eleanor, Lola, Anna H, and Lucia all scoring goals. Special mention to Laura who also played up a year group and Anna R and Orla who were playing in their first football tournament.

Gymnastics:
On Sunday 13 November, the U11 Gymnastics team competed in the Independent Schools Gymnastics Association (ISGA) Floor and Vault competition - winning 1st place! We wish the team the best of luck when they compete in the next round of the ISGA Championships in March 2023.

Hockey:
Congratulations to the U10B and C teams who played in a fantastic afternoon of Hockey last Thursday. The B teams finished 4th place, and the C team placed 2nd.

GDST Rally:
Well done to the students that took part at the GDST Rally! Results: U15 Hockey 3rd place and U12 Netball 3rd place.

National Schools Netball:
Well done to U19s for your efforts at the weekend, well done to U16s who came second in their section to qualify for the playoffs which they narrowly lost by 3 - they were outstanding all day and so close! Good luck to U14s this weekend.

Rowing:
Congratulations to Katie K. who took part in GB Rowing Trials! And more news on some pretty staggering ergathon fundraising in coming weeks!

Cross Country:
The Junior (Y7 & 8) and the Inter (Y9 & 10) team qualified out the county earlier this term, and yesterday they had the regional finals. The inter team came 3rd so have gained a place at National Finals in Leeds in December. The team consisted of: Isla S, Allegra A, Iona A, Daniella S, Dilly Q, Libby T.
