On Saturday 16 March we were excited to accompany two teams (Team High Five and Team CTRL Freaks) from WHS to take part in the regional First Lego League competition.  Hosted by The American School in London, we ventured to St john's Wood ready to meet the other competitors and compete!

The teams have been working diligently since September preparing for the competition. The initative, run by First - a global robotics community and Lego Education - aims to challenge students to understand the fundamentals of STEM and apply them to real world problems. The competition runs in 110 countries and has over 679,000 participants!

There was a total of 21 teams taking part on the day of our regional competition. After 3 intense rounds of robot battles, presentation to the judges on their robot design and innovation project, teams eagerly anticipated results.

Whilst we didn't make it through to the finals, the teams displayed great resilience, determination and real team spirit throughout the day. Feedback from judges was very positive. We finished in the top ten and were the top scoring all-girls team. The day ended with lots of positive energy, celebration and renewed sense of determination ready for next year's competition!
