Local schoolchildren were invited to take part in the LoveWimbledon community design competition to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the official theme being 'Plant a tree for the Jubilee'.

Congratulations to Mia F (Year 7) who won her age category with an environmentally inspired design called 'The Lungs of the Planet'. Her winning design has been painted on the fifth plinth by an artist and we're proud to say it can now be seen in Wimbledon town centre, as part of the Summer-long Platinum Jubilee installation.

Craig Hurring, Chief Executive of Love Wimbledon Business Improvement District commented:

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is an exciting opportunity for town centres to think of fun, innovative ways to bring more visitors in, drive sales and create a classic buzz that many of us miss about high streets. We have loved the active involvement from our brilliant Wimbledon community in creating an installation that represents our community spirit and marks this momentous occasion”.
