Literary treats to come at Wimbledon High with Wimbledon Bookfest and Folio 2023

We have a feast of literary delights coming up at Wimbledon High in the coming weeks for anyone with an appreciation of literature and the creative writing process, with Bookfest and then Folio 2023. We are delighted to be hosting Bookfest 2023 on the school site this year and looking forward to a stellar line-up, including many alumnae, in the Auditorium and Rutherford Theatre, starting tomorrow (Saturday 14 October) with alumna, journalist and author Claire Cohen being among the first, interviewing author Gelong Thubten at 2.30 pm.

The Sunday Times bestselling broadcaster and alumna Afua Hirsch is in conversation with Bernardine Evaristo in the Rutherford on Sunday 15 October,  taking us on a global exploration of ancestral beauty practices. And on Thursday 19 October alumna Rachel Wang, director and co-founder of Chocolate Films and Creative Director of the 1000 Londoners documentary series, will be in conversation with author, expert and champion of the arts Will Gompertz.

We are thrilled that Claire Cohen returns to school as Guest Speaker at our Folio celebration evening on 31 October. Folio is anthology of writing from talented students across the school and the evening is an opportunity for the sort of young writers who may one day be on the Bookfest stage to read their work to an audience of peers, staff and parents.
