We are delighted to learn that alumna actress and writer Gaia Mondadori (Class of 2019) stars in her new play Hungry Animals which opens next week at the Hen and Chickens Theatre and runs from 21 – 25 November.
Written by Gaia, directed by Charlotte Rooney-Baker and starring Gaia and Camden Roque, Hungry Animals is a dark comedy drama which follows a relationship through a series of vignettes, and a timely and unsettling exploration of shame and ambition, loneliness and connection: ‘It exposes the stories we play out in order to protect ourselves, and how these in turn become our cages.’
Gaia also starred as Pavetta in the hugely popular Netflix series The Witcher (ranked third on Netflix’s most-watched shows of all time) in Everything I Know About Love and took her own show Fake It Till You Make It to the Edinburgh Fringe. You can read more about her work here
Gaia’s advice to survive “an industry built on rejection”, is that the most prominent characteristic you need is “a love for it”. To survive the lows, “your imagination has to stretch to limitless bounds in order to keep the momentum after hardships”. You can follow her on Instagram here and get tickets here
We wish Gaia the best of luck with the run and look forward to hearing more!
