WHS at the British Ski Academy

Congratulations to Theresa (Year 7) and Coco (Year 10), who have represented Wimbledon High School in the Artemis British Interschool Ski Challenge. Theresa had stayed and trained with the British Ski Academy in Aosta, Italy, this Spring term.

These keen skiers joined some 400 girls and boys, including some from schools with strong race teams who have weekly race training (from Ecolint from Geneva, Switzerland and St Louis School from Milan, Italy) and well as London schools The Harrodian, St Johns, North London Collegiate School, Alleyn’s school, South Hampstead and Downe House and nearby Surbiton High. Some of the participants had already raced in more than 10 races this year, so competition was very strong.

Theresa and Coco had a fantastic time and were amazed to learn how such a professional ski race is run. They also learned about the need to wear a catsuit - next time they would definitely wear one! The girls entered the Giant Slalom and Slalom. We're very proud of them and thank them for flying the flag for WHS in the Alps!
