A smashing GDST Golf competition

Wimbledon High School took on Swinley Forest Golf course in the GDST Annual Golf competition on Thursday 29th June.

Four golfers from Year 7, Manu, Rebecca, Amy and Annabelle, competed against girls from other Trust schools in an 18 hole stableford competition. The course lived up to its reputation of being challenging, with the rough being made up of thick heather, but nevertheless the girls showed great perseverance and played brilliantly over 18 holes, with all four girls scoring very well indeed.

Manu, who scored 29 stableford points and achieved several pars, was awarded Best Newcomer.

Wimbledon High will look forward to including a greater number of players in this event next year. A huge thank you goes to Tom Beardmore-Gray from Trust Head Office for organising such a spectacular event!
