For two nights only, the Rutherford Theatre was impressively transformed into the East-African Savanah, as our Year 6 girls took to the stage and whisked the audience away into the story of the Lion King, our Year 6 production.
In their dazzling costumes, Simba, Mufasa, Scar and friends belted out the toe-tapping and sing along classics including ‘Just Can’t Wait to Be King’, ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ and ‘Be Prepared’.
At the choice of the girls in Year 6, proceeds from the evening are being donated to WeSeeHope, a charity committed to creating sustainable change for vulnerable children in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe through community-led and skills-based programmes.
Focusing primarily on education, child rights and economic empowerment, their aim is that vulnerable children have the skills to change their own futures, and that their families and communities are able to support them along the way.
