Last week, I had the privilege of witnessing the performance of the Year 8 production of The Wardrobe, after a few weeks rehearsing it with them in Drama Club.
It is a beautiful piece, spanning 600 years, of private conversations held inside a wardrobe. More than 30 students took part, each with a substantial scene to re-enact. The Year 8 Players did a magnificent job, bringing out the humour in some scenes, and darkness, even death, in others.
Each scene held the audience captivated, with punctuating moments of well-choreographed (congratulations Naina!) relief in the form of rats, or school bullies wielding malignant phones. I would like to congratulate every student who took part, both on stage and behind the scenes.
