Year 4 Faraday Challenge Day - Thursday 11th May

All of Year 4 spent the day working in teams to tackle the Lighthouse Keeper Transfer IET Faraday Challenge Day. The task they were set at the start of the day was to design and build an emergency evacuation system, and they rose to the challenge magnificently.

At the end of the day each group demonstrated their prototype, explained how it would work, explained the forces involved and reflected on how they had solved the difficulties they encountered. Year 4 had to really demonstrate a great deal of resilience as the task was a very challenging one which required them to work very well as a team, tackle problems, think creatively and communicate their ideas effectively. A huge well done to everyone as all teams completed the task and produced protypes with working electrical circuits.

A special well done also goes to Team 4 whose team working and final design particularly stood out earning them enough points to become runners up.

Congratulations also need to go to Team 6 whose very impressive design caused the audience watching the presentation to gasp in awe as their protype evacuated the light house keepers and then smoothly returned to base!
