On Tuesday 23rd May an engaging and interactive parents' event was held with the aim of promoting playful approaches to mathematics.

The event, aimed to empower parents with strategies to make math learning enjoyable and accessible for their children. Attendees had the opportunity to explore various interactive activities and engage in discussions to enhance their understanding of the significance of playful maths learning.

The event commenced with an informative presentation on the benefits of incorporating play in mathematics education. Parents were introduced to the concept of playful approaches and how they foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Following the presentation, parents were divided into small groups and rotated through interactive stations.

Each station offered a unique maths-focused game or activity. At the "Mathematical Puzzles" stations, parents worked collaboratively to solve intriguing puzzles, encouraging teamwork and logical thinking. The "Times Tables " station showcased a variety of board games and card games designed to make learning times tables enjoyable and engaging. Parents eagerly participated in friendly competitions, discovering that learning through play can alleviate maths anxiety and strengthen conceptual understanding.

Furthermore, the "Maths in Everyday Life" station encouraged parents to explore how maths is integrated into daily activities. They engaged in discussions about using shopping, cooking, and budgeting as opportunities to introduce mathematical concepts to their children in a practical and playful manner.

The event concluded with a plenary, allowing parents to share their experiences, ask questions, and exchange valuable insights. Many parents expressed their newfound enthusiasm for playful approaches to maths, noting how they could now better support their daughter's learning at home.
