After an impressive display of talent and grit, the U13 Netballers secured a semi-final in the Surrey Netball Finals, where they beat Sir William Perkins School and then found themselves in a final against Guildford High School.

WHS had an impressive start immediately going up and held this lead going into the second half; GHS needed to step up and unfortunately with some superb shooting took the lead with only two minutes to go. The U13s therefore finished an impressive Runners Up in the County. Well done, we are so proud of you all.

Elena T's take on the day:

It was a fantastic day, the whole team really got into the flow of all the games, the shooters were on fire, through-court play was efficient, and the overall motivation was relentless. Personally, I find that our team’s passion for netball is inspiring.

The U12s had a superb day at their first Surrey Final. They proved themselves to be a real team, playing and supporting each other well and displaying good sportswoman-like qualities. They secured a semi-final where they met a slick Putney High School team so finished an overall = 3rd place in the County. A great start to their Netball career at WHS and a team to watch!

Issy B's take on the day:

Today was an amazing experience of the U12 A’s. I feel that everyone played a part in the matches today including the people cheering on the side-lines. Our shooters were very good and were in a good position for the rebound. Our defence was great winning the ball on the other team's centre pass. As well as the attackers who had amazing drives towards circle edge. Overall, I fell the U12 took every match in their stride as a fresh start. I think this was a great opportunity and experience for all the team.

The future looks bright for WHS Netball!
