Year 2 Explore the London Wetland Centre

On Monday, a very excited Year 2 travelled to Barnes for a trip to WWT London Wetland Centre.

Whilst there they had the opportunity to explore the grounds and learn about wild ducks, geese and gulls. The cute and cuddly looking otters were definitely a favourite with the girls. Each class engaged in a special pond dipping workshop where they were amazed by the interesting creatures living beneath the surface of the water, from great diving beetles to newts to pond snails; scientific observation, enquiry and questioning were rife! 

The day finished with a visit to the adventure playground and a ‘wild walk’ where the girls were able to balance on beams, wobble across rope bridges and steady themselves on stepping stones. It was such a fun and fascinating day!
