Raising money for brilliant causes

Earlier this week, House assembly was dedicated to the importance of giving to others - raising awareness on the importance of charities and how they are needed more than ever with the rise in the cost of living, natural disasters, and the war in Ukraine.

House Captains reminded students of the House charities that we are supporting: Merton & Morden Guild, Wimbledon Guild, Home Start Merton, and Faith in Action, and introduced dedicated House days, when we will be fundraising for the charities, with Scott House kicking it off on 1 November. Students were also encouraged to vote on charities that each year group would like to raise money for this year, from WWF, UNICEF Ukraine, and Kidney Research UK, to name a few. 

Speaking of raising money, throughout September, our Classics teachers have been virtually walking/running/cycling Hadrian's wall to raise money for Classics for All, a charity promoting the teaching of Classics in state schools - inspiring stuff in the first few weeks of term!
