This week we celebrated our long distance runners.

We are very proud of both Miss Legg who ran the London marathon in 4 hours, 22 minutes and 7 seconds and Ellen Weir who ran 3 miles in 21 minutes; very impressive!

Year 6 have been becoming more proficient on their bicycles. In the same way as your daughters grow up you would wish them to be able to manage London’s public transport system, our oldest girls have been learning how to become a safe cyclist. As cycle paths and cyclists continue to grow in number throughout London, the more important it is that our girls know how to be safe on the road.

This afternoon, we welcomed Year 3 back from Juniper Hall – oh what a lot of tales they have to tell. They should sleep well tonight! Our sporting girls had a very busy day on Wednesday in that we put out rounders teams, tennis teams and girls were swimming competitively hoping to get through to the regional finals. And we have lots of girls playing chess at Hinchley Wood this Sunday – good luck to them.

During Open Morning this week Myra and friends, from Reception, engaged parents with her knowledge about chameleons, camouflage and why it happens. And Kyra, also from Reception, explained in assembly to the whole school what a 3D shape is, gave an example of a cylinder and exactly what it looks like. Both were instances of how impressive our girls can be - we are lucky to be teaching them!
