What a treat for us to hear such polished performances in our Upper Junior Ensembles Concert on Tuesday evening in the auditorium.

Kicking us off in style were the fabulous Djembe Drummers, followed by some gorgeous Mozart from our String Quartet.  Guitar Ensemble provided us with relaxed yet regal renditions of Ode to Joy and Pachelbel's Canon and Rockin' Reeds performed with poise in the beautiful Somewhere over the Rainbow and were a well-oiled machine with the Allegro from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.

Our youngest string players in String Ensemble ended with a bang (quite literally) in their rendition of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Chamber Strings transported us to Tolkien's Middle Earth with their performance of In Dreams. Living up to their name Absolutely Fabulous treated us to two wonderfully contrasting works, dipping their toes into some Shostakovich and the last adventure of the evening was with Chamber Orchestra's brilliant finale of Star Wars

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this concert - we are so proud of you all for the courage and commitment you show in your music making week in and week out. A huge thank you to our fabulous VMTS, Sheena Balmain, John Hutchinson, Paul Brunner, Helen Ward, Clare Kennington, Joe Howell, Stephen Hiscock and Merel van der Knoop for all of their coaching, piano accompaniment and support leading up to this concert.
