It's been a glorious week of Christmas celebrations here at WHS!

To kick it all off, on Monday morning we had our highly anticipated annual Christmas Tree assembly (our first virtual one!) streamed from the Senior Hall to the whole school. Although things are a little different this year, we still managed to sing along to the 12 Days of Christmas (you can watch it here).

Speaking of watching videos, the Year 7 girls brilliantly showcased their first pantomime - 'A Christmas Carol' with Scrooge and the gang. We also saw the infamous 'Grinch' by Year 1 and 2, and the Year 3 and 4 production of 'Not So Silent Night'. The girls in Year 5 and 6 had their traditional Carol Service recorded, for all parents and families to tune into next Monday, and Tuesday will see Senior students perform in a beautiful Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols.

WHS staff got creative, streaming a tutorial on wreath-making and offering home-made goods in a silent auction to raise money for charity. As a community we've been collecting many different gifts of food, toys and household goods to go to local people in need, and have delivered scores of food hampers to local families. You can read more about our community fundraising and lunch initiative here.

To end the week off with a festive bang, the Reception girls performed their nativity to their parents (broadcast digitally), we all sported our Christmas jumpers and Juniors partied in the afternoon within their classrooms.

Huge thanks to our fantastic caterers, Thomas Franks, for serving delicious socially distanced Christmas lunches!
