Whole School Rowing

The rowing community came together on Sunday 12th November for their annual Ergathon.

This year, the event focused on the upcoming Olympics with students being challenged to row to Paris!  Parents came along and cheered on their daughters for the last 42.2km to the Paris Olympics. For those new to the Ergathon, it’s a race against the clock in relay-style, with mixed-squad teams to complete the marathon distance.

After all their hard work, parents and students enjoyed a hog roast and refreshments.

The event hopes to raise the funds needed to buy a Hudson coxed four and 3 coxless pairs/doubles plus associated oars. Each year, WHSBC also donates 10% of our profits to British Rowing and their Love Rowing campaign whose aim is to increase access to the sport of rowing from under-represented communities.

With huge thanks to the WHSBC Committee, Ms Lindsay and all our rowing coaches for organising such a fantastic event!
